Ok I have MacPro 3,1. XFX 7970 XFX 7970 FX-797A-TDBC Version 5. ATIwinflash stops on me both in win7 and win8. I tried to find some sort of boot disk to use ATIFlash, but no boot disks I have been able to find yet will allow input from my usb keyboard. Any suggestions on how I can flash my bios? Can I just use Zeus? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

It really is my friend, my problem is that I have a MacPro and therefore only USB keyboard and mouse. And most of the free flavors of DOS that I have tried, do not recognize input from USB keyboard or mouse.

Any Recommendations?

Use Win Me boot disk. Works perfectly for me.

Just a little FYI...
The WinME boot disk did the trick, but I was only able to get a readable file if I have formatted one of the hard drives with the "Master Boot Record" Option in the partition tab of DiskUtil.

But this leads me to the next question...
This is what I get from "ATIFLASH -ai" when in the WinME environment:
Code:
Adapter  0    (BN=01, DN=00, PCIID=67981002, SSID=32111682)
    Asic Family        :  Tahiti
    Flash Type         :  M25P20/c    (256 KB)
    Product Name       :  Tahiti B0 CR XT C38601 GDDR5 3GB 500e/150m
    Bios Config File   :  797ADB32.BIN
    Bios P/N           :  113-797ATDBV32_11
    Bios Version       :  015.022.000.004.000000
    Bios Date          :  07/16/12 04:28
ROM Image Type     :  Legacy Image
    ROM Image Details  :
        Image[0]: Size(65536 Bytes), Type(Legacy Image)
Adapter  1    (BN=02, DN=00, PCIID=95881002, SSID=00A6106B)
    Asic Family        :  RV630/M76
    Flash Type         :  PM25LV010   (128 KB)
    Product Name       :  113-B14801-027 RV630 GDDR3_16Mx32 128bit 256MB 700e/800m
    Bios Config File   :  SB14801.027
    Bios P/N           :  113-B14801-027
    Bios Version       :  010.073.000.004.028233
    Bios Date          :  02/21/08 14:22
ROM Image Type     :  Hybrid Images
    ROM Image Details  :
        Image[0]: Size(62464 Bytes), Type(Legacy Image)
        Image[1]: Size(40448 Bytes), Type(EFI Image)

There is not a problem that it shows the Tahiti adapter as having a 256k bios and I am just flashing the 128k bios as created by netkas script for adding EFI to the bios?

If it is indeed showing a 256K flash type, is there another 128K bios (factory original maybe?) that I should be able to access somehow? Is it the Overdrive Bios? Again, I have no BIOS Switch on this version of the XFX 7970.

Thanks for all the help.
Cheers

I have exactly the same videocard in my system, right now.
The video card is not taking the macroms i've made.

Did you get the card to work, including bootscreens?
