this message is to all rom hacking guru's. aka netkas, rominator... & any others who I don't know about.

I am currently working on a custom efi rom for my mac pro.  Grin Just wondering if anyone knows how to or if possible. modify a rom that has ddr2 ram & edit to ddr3 ram or vice versa.

It would be greatly appreciated.

if your ROM is Nvidia, use Arti's guide at Macelite, still basically accurate. Keep moving the structures over until card works. No more tokenizing strings is good news.

EFI part is the kicker

I have had 0.00% help working on Nvidia ROM stitching despite numerous requests for help. It is a pity, as this Quadro 4000 comes out, we could be making EFI roms for GTX485 and 470 but since we don't know how, we will be dependent on Netkas ATY Init to make cards run AFTER we get drivers.

if it is ATI, good luck

Wow! Rominator, such a quick response. many thanks

I am trying make a rom for a ATI HD2600pro I bought so I can use it along side my hd5870 now that 10.6.5 appears to have fixed the two card issue.

My problem is the apple OEM firmware I'm using is has DDr3 tables. The card I want to USE has DDR2 tables. In your experience will this be possible? or a waste of time?
