Hi all,

got my notebook a few weeks ago. Trief for about ten days to install Snow Leo on the NoBo... Not working. Everything is working - except the graphics :-(

Installed 10.6.3 (Original from USB and also iAktos S2).
For HDA, I set up the bios to switchable an done an
updated to 10.6.4.
Afterwards I installed the AppleIntelHDA kext.
Result: -x works, kext not loade - otherwise: Kernel Crash

For the Ati I tried several things.
The ID of the 5850m ist 68a1:1002 . Found this in the netkas kext and also in the original drivers.

If I use the procedure from netkas, ATY_INIT complains, that the device is already set up. If the kext are loaded, I get a kernel crash.
If I try to use the original kexts, I get also a kernel crash.

Don´t know what to do next... As I read, there is no working solution for the ATI 5850 mobile now. But whats going on with the Intel HDA Graphics? This should work or does it depends on the corei5 processor, because it´s integrated?

I am realy confused and running out of ideas :-(

Anybody here, who has a suggestion for a new try?

thanks, regards,

well...mobility isnt supported yet.

the problem is - apple uses internal DisplayPort connectio in their imacs (which use mobility parts)

and ur laptop most likely uses LVDS, which is not supported by apple drivers at all

Hi Netkas,

thanks for the info... Hope there will be a solution coming (whenever) ;-)

Do you think there´s a chance to get my Core I5 450m integrated HD Graphics working as an alternative?
This will be enough for the first solution. I need the Snow Leo only for DJing with best latency...

Any ideas about that?

Thanks a lot, regards,

Well, there may be some hope though.

Wasn't there a port to OSX of the open source ATI or ATI Radeon HD drivers?

Anyway, even if hopefully these drivers are ported, still no luck on the 3D (maybe mesa drivers ?)

Note - These drivers are the one used under Linux, Mobility are indeed supported.
