Greetings,

I'm not sure if anyone here can help, but this forum was instrumental in getting Lion to work on my older
Mac Pro 1,1 with a pair of E5320's thanks to the firmware loader.  I am trying to run Parallels and Fusion on this box now and I want to enable the Virtual Technology that is built into these Xeon chips.  It is apparently not enabled by EFI on this machine and I have no idea how to get it to work (the Sleep mode thing I've seen doesn't really fill the bill if it even works).  I have tried the rEFIt steps with no success as well.  Since you guys seem to know your hardware, is there another tool that can permanently enable VT-X support or at least something I can stick in the boot process to enable it at start-up?

-K

And if it helps, this guy wrote some code to turn it on under Ubuntu, but it doesn't appear to survive a reboot:
