Friend of mine is fighting with following issue:

After EFI 5.2 install system boots OK. IOREG didn't show any entries related to EFI. Geekbench also reporting hackintosh - not mackintosch.

He decides to upgrade to 10.5.1 via software upgrade. After this PC, durring boot, instead grey booting screen system just reboots.

It look like EFI is not installed properly.

Here is some details about his PC:
GA-P35-DS4 MoBO.
WD Raptor with 2 partitions: PartA, 54G, TIger; PartB, 12G Leo. Active part is PartA. Bootloader is BooX from Tiger
Drive was partitioned via diskutil from 10.4.3 long time ago.

EFI was installed by following procedure:
-clone PartA to PartB
-install ToH RC2. Install went OK, Leo works OK.
-boot PartB as single user
-mounted /sbin/mount -uw /
-run ./startupfiletool /dev/rdisk0s2 ./boot_v5
-console says ...writen 4096, 8192 something (no any errors reported).
-reboot. ToH RC2 boots OK
-install 10.5.1 update. Reboot and start via F8 OS from PartB
-endless circle of reboots.

So pls help me(and finally him) with following questions:
-is this procedure OK
-how can I verif that EFI was installed OK
-how can I verify that EFI is recognized and working
-how to solve my "endless reboot" issue

milion thanx in advance for help !!!

You shouldn't mount the partion when installing efi. Also. The kext in efi folder should be installed.
