I have an ATi 5770 which was previously flashed for Mac Pro 1.1 (worked perfectly). That Mac Pro has now been dismantled and I would like to use the card in a Hackintosh.

What tool should I use to flash it again for use in a hackintosh?

that's what I thought - but it has artefacts and colours don't display properly  - works perfectly in 2 Mac Pro 1.1's but not in a Hack.

I do seem to remember that early Mac Pro's did not have a 64bit EFI sector so wondering if this is part of the issue.

is my memory correct in thinking that there was a different flash for early and late Mac Pro's due to the different EFI implementations on them? Is this the reason that my 5770 card flashed for a Mac Pro 1.1 does not work correctly in a Hackintosh or PC?

AMD cards used EBC EFI.

Should work on 32 bit or 64 bit Mac EFI.

It's possible it got a bad flash, the BIOS part could be wrong.

@Rominator many thanks for your reply. Would that have been apparent when it was in use in a Mac Pro - it has worked flawlessly in a Mac Pro for around 4 years?

on a related note would it be necessary to inject ATi in clover for this card to be used in a hack? I had believed it should work OTB but now wondering if injection is necessary.

I just tested and with Inject ATi selected in Clover the card is correctly recognised by macOS although I still have a phasing to blue issue (present when booted without injection as well).

Is there a current flash available that I could reflash this card with?

No Mac EFI boot screens in a Hackintosh so you can download the original 5770 rom from
