Not exactly an apples to apples comparison here, since you're using the DX11 renderer in Windows for the 1050Ti. A better test is the 1050Ti in OS X (which does work as of Sierra 10.12.3 or later with the web drivers AFAIK).

I really wish those tests would be updated to support metal and dx12

at this point benching dx11 and opengl seems futile since the future will be pushing hard on the new apis

And hobble the 1050ti?  Grin.

Not trying to be snide...

The larger point is this is Apple's "VR Ready" iMac. It costs $3500 stock (in Australia).

My client went all out, with i7 and 2TB SSD. ie $6000!

I got the 'unfair' Valley score with $600 of PC hardware.

What test/settings/link (please) would you like me to run on the 1050ti, in OSX?

I know right!

Reminds me of stories you read about guys going to SE Asia, meeting The Love Of Their Life, then finding out 20 years later The Spouse bought her own house (with guess who's money), and left you broke.

"But we had something special"  Undecided

Reposting. 2017 i7 iMac, 580 LuxMark, so next person browsing thread will see comparison directly under yours.

Allegedly, 10.12.6 update unlocks all cores?

The point would be to do the 1050Ti in OS X, yes. Then you'd be using the same renderer and graphics API and eliminating the difference between Windows and OS X (which is on top of the API difference as well). Hence, not an apples to apples comparison.

The reality is that a Windows score isn't all that good of a comparison to the OS X score because they use differing APIs and renderers. Your iMac's Radeon would fare better in Windows on these tests too. The point is to do them all in OS X. Yes, it's still OpenGL only. But at least it'd be a level playing field to gauge how well the GPUs are used.

Yeah, the comparison is flawed, his Windows bench even had AA disabled.
I would post metal results, but gfxbench isn't working on high sierra.

For what it's worth, my results in Windows10 without AA, OSX without AA hits 2819.

@OP,
The radeon Pro 580 is a 5.5 TFlops card and the 1050 Ti is rated at 2.1 Tflops, no matter what results you get.

In this particular instance, I'd blame the Unigine devs. For some reason, their engine runs very poorly on AMD cards, at least on macOS OpenGL. On the Valley test on macOS, my 2013 iMac with its laptop geforce 775M is only marginally slower than a high-end 2017 iMac. This benchmark does not represent what we see in other tests.
If you add DX11 vs openGL on top of that, and disable AA on the 1050 Ti, it's even more biased.

You should compare both cards on the same OS and API, for instance Luxmark (GPU only) or any recent macOS game at very high resolution (not 1080p).
