Yet another eGpu help post :)

Evening gents,
Was wondering if anyone could help me with a bit of advice regarding my little setup.
Macbook Pro 13 retina early 2015, Akitio t2 box, EVGA 750ti mini, 120W 10A power supply.
Was running Sierra, used the eGpu automator - all good on the external display, but very poor performance and strange artifacts on the screen.
No luck in Win 10.
Scrapped everything and going back to El Capitan, and will try win 8.1.
Any advice regarding the low performance?
Thanks a million

Quick update on this one for future reference.
Got it working under El Capitan and Sierra - the external display needs to be selected as the main screen to avoid lags (gaming performance is still poor)
Win 10 - hot plugging right after the chime, when the windows wheel just starts spinning, worked with consistence.
Rather unstable, crashing under load, every 5 minutes. Tried the powered riser but same results, even if the power supply delivers 120w.
Reckon an external PSU + another video card with additional power input would do the trick?
