Hi all,

After reading a post by netkas, regarding the use of switchresx and 10 bit, I'd like some advice regarding adding a true 10 bit monitor in my setup. Is it safe to assume that even if I switch to billion colours in switchresx, even with a 10 bit monitor, I will only see 8 bit since the GTX 980 I use does not support 10 bit in opengl? And finally, is rendering of 10 bit video affected by the 8 bit limit of the GPU? As I mentioned above I plan to get a 10 bit UHD monitor (http://store.asus.com/us/item/201605AM050000027) to use along with my 1920x1080 one. Hopefully the 980 can support both of them.

Thanks for your time!

Here is a thing:
DP1.2 doesn't have enough b/w to handle 4k with 10-bit at 60 hz. outputing 2560@60 hz with 4k is fine (but not in osx on 980, in windows with quadro card), but it's not what you probably want.
and hdmi2.0 isn't supported in osx.

Thanks a million for your help! Quadro is out of the question; too expensive! So are most 10 bit monitors and at least I won't be throwing money away. Thanks once again!
