Usually it is the other way round, driver first, cuda later, or am I wrong?

I stand corrected... I just hope the driver will be out soon.

nvidia support is telling people who contact them that web drivers will come in about a week. that's brutal.

Oh well. Gives me plenty of time to make preparations for 10.13 then, eh? Tongue

you're on a 780, you don't actually need web drivers. the opencl lib with working power management from 10.12 drivers dropped in to stock drivers would probably be enough.

I spent 4 hours today converting my Tima Capsule drive to APFS just to know it's not supported via Time Machine Wink Had to revert it back to HFS+.

I'd take that with a massive grain of salt, their support people haven't been particularly up-to-date with things relating to the web drivers in the past.  Someone posted info (I forget where) that they expect a driver out within 24-48 hours of 10.13 going live yesterday.

My installation didn’t throw up any errors but CUDA complains that there should be a newer version than the latest 9.0.x to go with this driver.

Installed without probs Thanks for the link! For the first time after I installed NVIDIA's GTX 980 the PCI section in "System Information" does not produce an unknown error and shows the info related to my card. However it reports a speed pf 2.5 GT/s:
