I've noticed that the Titan X Maxwell and the Titan X Pascal can use the exact same Win 7 drivers according to the Nvidia driver download pages:

375.95 Nov 18, 2016
375.70 Oct 28, 2016
375.63 Oct 26, 2016

are downloadable from either the Titan XM or Titan XP pages.

If that's the case, maybe the OS X web driver for Titan XM will work with a Titan XP? maybe just report the wrong string description of the card?

346.03.15b01 for example?

No.  Windows drivers always make all supported GPUs work with the same set of binaries (NVIDIA calls that "Unified Driver Architecture").  The macOS drivers do not support Pascal at all (yet?).

Just curious.   Does anyone remember how long the gap was from when Nvidia released the 9 series cards to when Nvidia released OS X web drivers?   I can't remember for the life of me.

GM107 was released in February 2014, Mac drivers came during Yosemite Beta (-> summer time).

The Mac WebDrivers also contain al supported GPUs in a single package. The problem is: Mac drivers are still stuck at rev. 367, which doesn't support Pascal.
Windows is at 375, which supports everything.
