hi everyone!

i found an tutorial for installing macOS Sierra to your Mac Pro 3,1 (http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/mac-pro-3-1-installation-guide-for-sierra.1978005/)
but - even when comes an update you have to copy the edited "InstallableMachines.plist" and "PlatformSupport.plist" which is identify your mac by board-id and product-name/model.

so, do you think it will be possible to change this strings on my Mac Pro 3,1 to another Mac Pro which is supported on sierra?
and have somebody knows any software to do that? :-)

kind regards

Technically you could bootloader it with clover or something and fake a 4,1 or something but you may actually create new issues with power management and the like since the OS uses your system definition to control the hardware.
