This member MacEFIRom posted a description of a hack

http://forum.netkas.org/index.php/topic,852.msg5004.html#msg5004

with a zip file [MacPro2009-2010FirmwareTool] which is supposed to change the firmware on a 2009 Mac Pro to firmware for the 2010 Mac Pro.

Two questions:

1. Any comments on the code? Does it work? Cautions?

2. With Apple cutting off the Mac Pro 2009 from using the upcoming Sierra OS, assuming this hack works as advertised, will it allow me to run Sierra on my Mac Pro 2009?

Thanks

There's a rather large thread (over 1K Posts) dedicated to this.
