Any chance MacVidCards/netkas can support these new cards in a MacPro? If they really do ship at $699 and $399 next month, with the low power requirements and Titan-beating performance they could change the MacPro GPU aftermarket in a blink.

Getting ahead of yourselves a bit. First the nvidia web driver will need to add pascal before anything is really done. The cards will also need to come out first to give Rominator a chance to look at them and begin rom magic.
I have no doubt these things will happen but there will definitely not be a timeline for it this early.

It will take at least 6 months. That's my estimate. They are selling for $900+ from the scalpers on Amazon. Let them get production up before jumping in.

I'm guessing within 30 days to get first drivers.
Nvidia understands "striking while iron is hot".
Pity that AMD doesn't. I just noticed huge drop in used prices of Maxwell cards on Ebay. Why? Because there is finally competition. AMD never created any so Nvidia could ask retail for more than a year. It is only their own newer cards that finally forced lower prices.
One month ago you could still get nearly full retail for a used Titan-X. Not the case today.

and of course the premium markup that such a lead/monopoly allows! still worth it but I'll still wait for after market. with the quality coolers from EVGA and others these cards willy really kick it up in the overclocks.
If apple goes with AMD in next refresh I'm going to go mad though. even for mobile amd is just wrong wrong wrong. space heaters in tiny imac/macbook enclosures is such a nightmare. all i see all day long is tech support complains about low fps because of cpu thottling. these things are NOT designed to run at 100% for long periods of times. I was sad apple didn't go with the 980ms with their greater power efficiency and lower heat. maybe a 10xxM will win them over. or they'll continue using AMD, selling overheating macs..:\

Wow - You really think 6 months!? That would be a HUGE buzzkill.. On the NVIDIA Web Drivers part - Do we recall how long it took when the 980 was released for that to be supported by Web Drivers? That seems like a reasonable guide to follow for the current scenario, yeah? |

There will be probably a beta release of OS X 10.12 on WWDC. Public beta might be available a bit later. |
