Hello.
If you want to use egpu on windows sometime in future its better to stay away from macos sierra, it updates nmp firmware to b20 which isnt good. There is no way to downgrade. B17 seems to be good still.

Does it only run the firmware update when you do the original install?
Can I update from another machine, then run Sierra without it updating firmware?

sudo find /Volumes/NMP_DRIVE -iname MP61_0116_B*_LOCKED.scap

NMP can be safely updated to 10.12.2 without FW upgrade to b20 with target disk mode.

If I run 10.12.2 update from App Store on my 6,1 am I going to end up with the eGPU blocked firmware?
I'd rather avoid finding out if the "roll back" works, but maybe I need to know.
I'm kinda waiting for Nvidia to release the Web Driver with no "b" in it's name.
Wouldn't it be a magical X-Mas present if Pascal support appeared in 10.12.2?

I updated to 10.12.2.
I downgraded the firmware but I am still unable to get it working in MacOS. Tried Automate script and it worked once, but didn't get it. So I let Nvidia Manager update the firmware, and it states its using Nvidia Web Driver but I am still not getting any output.
Any tips?

you are getting things confused
driver manager has nothing to do with firmware
#1 newbie error is not triggering PSU
#2 ff-ing up drivers
