The iTunes crash was happening before your fix with a 6970 (with deleted gldriver.bundle). Also happens in latest snow leopard release.

P.S very nice work. I tried 11C48 this morning and sighed when it made no noticeable difference. I'm glad you don't give up anywhere near as easily as I do (Guess it also helps that you actually know what you are doing lol).

This is good news.  Parden my ignorance, if I buy a 6970 now, do I still need to flash it?  Or can I just follow the instructions of copying the ATIRadeonX3000GL driver to its folder?

Also, how are people solving the 6pin+8pin connector issue?  I don't want to have to buy an external power supply for a video card.  My Mac Pro is already loaded with 5 hard drives and one superdrive.  If I get some kind of adapter, I'm afraid I ruin something.

Hi Netkas,

Congrats, it works Shocked

Still have to boot twice at cold start to pass grey screen, message "unsupported card" still exists at boot, iTunes even with last version, crashes as before.

As for source engine games, they use 2xmsaa by default, so need tyo edit videoconfig_mac.cfg file manualy (change two values there) before running a game.

That looks good... New GPUs around the corner, meaning new Mac Pros and other ROMs to test.  Smiley

I doubt uvd used for video, since only few mac (mostly macbooks) has been given ability to use hw video acceleration.

I appreciate that this thread is about the 6970 however the patch above has solved most of the issues I had like iTunes causing a KP.

My 6950 is working very well now in 10.7.1 with the patches.

I am very grateful to you all - I appreciate your help Netkas and all who contribute so positively.
