I read somewhere GPT is noticibly faster than mbr !? ,
anyone found out this to be true ? from what i understand there shouldnt be any speed difference

i have found that my geekbench score was more snappy and my system is slightly snappier.
I think since leopard was meant to be running on GPT and not MBR it performs better.
I have noticed that even vista performs better on GPT.

I also think that MBR is just old and need to retire. same with BIOS

Can't say I've notice any difference.

You wouldn't think it would matter much after booting since its just a partition map scheme. You're still running on the same filesystem.

Could any differences be more related to PCEFI rather than GUID itself?

Tiger algo runs with GPT.

Leopard also runs with Apple Partition Scheme.

Any real benchmarks or just very solid subjetive assumptions?

Seems to boot faster with GPT and some tasks seem quicker like mounting a disk image.

I vote placebo. I've not noticed any benchmark differences outside the margin of error on any of my machines when I switched to GPT.

Yeah I'm not sure it's faster either.

Changed to GPT after 4 months and it feels the same to me.
