Title: UEFI
Post by: bob on December 06, 2007, 12:12:13 AM
Hi.
Netkas, did you ever tested uefi?
My motherboard have an option to enable or disable uefi boot, is there a way to use motherboard's uefi with OSX?
The only test i did was try to boot the original leopard dvd but wont boot... Any thoughts?

Which mb do you have?  :) I think DVD didn't recognize 'coz your built-in UEFI framework doesn't Apple's boot.efi inside, or macs recongnize Boot DVDs in something other way than standart UEFI.

Maybe boot.efi search some mach_kernels on dvd/hd/usb/...etc and load 'em?

nop
applebootpolicy in apple's efi looks for blessed partitions, then runs boot.efi from it, and boot.efi loads kernel from drive  where located

So...
For loading Apple's DVD is need to put AppleBootPolice.efi somewhere in flash or hdd?

or just install rEFIt

rEFIt image will not work on any computer but mac because there's no other efi based pc that supports hfs+ filesistem at boot (in efi itself)
this (DG33BU) and some other modern intel mb's really have support for uefi but have no internal efi shell.
