Tried amuroray's gma950 gfx string on my acer 4310 laptop, all i can see is a blue leo background... mouse ponter not appearing.

I can only get a display when using an external monitor.

does anybody know what's causing this?

btw I'm using kalyway 10.5.1

try replace AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext (this that is the correct name) or smth_IntegratedFramebuffer.kext for kext on ToH dvd.

Hi, I have a gma 965 and I am trying to install JAS 10.4.8 on a sony vaio fz210ce.    can't get the screen to do anything other than 1024x768.  I need it to be 1280x800.  Any chance this gma950 file will work, and if so how do i go about applying this.. I downloaded and saw the plist file and the .hst file, but have no idea what to do with them or where to put them.

i installed 10.5.2 and the gfx update 1.0. no need for a gfx string OR natit anymore on x3100. this is past.

I can confirm this. Working on a HP Compaq 6720s without extra kexts (GMA950 kexts removed just in case)

I dont know but might be worthy to try; The x3100 on my lap works fine without natit. I still have to check if still there are issues with mirroring the screen I had with natit (extended display worked fine).

Can you give more information. What exactly did? I have  HP Compaq 6720s with kalyway + intel 10.5.2 combo update + graphics update 1.0 , but still no success with x3100.

I did nothing. I have a custom selfmade 10.5 install DVD. update to 10.5.2 with apple updates. x3100 was always working with natit. After install the graphic update I deleted natit. Is working well: QE/CI/dual monitor
you must always delete all the GMA950 kexts and the appleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext from the extensions folder.

put the files into your /System/Library/Extensions/ folder, chmod & chown it...
or use kexthelper.app to do this (google it)

Experimenting with an Intel G35 system with integrated X3500 on Leo4allR3 10.5.2 install.

Profiler is reporting the graphics devid as 0x2982.

It looks like it is "finding" something based on the system.log entries:
kernel[0]: GFX0: family specific matching fails

I'm going through the X3100 kexts to see what damage I can do.
