Are you sure you've got the 512MB version? Try to use modded EFI studio with all desktop single gpu Geforce 6/7/8 cards. I did not have any aritifacts using nvInstaller v5 or EFI.

Yes I'm sure, I'm dual booting XP and the latest NVidia driver is reporting 512MB.

I tried EFI studio, still no luck with my 10.5.4 (upgraded from 10.5.2). It seems the EFI string generated is half the size of the one made by hand with gfxutil. I will play with it some more to see if I'm doing something wrong.

In the meantime, I tried to capture the issue I'm having with both NVinject 0.21 512MB and NVkush, and to my surprise, it was actually recorded the way i see it myself when scrolling or draging windows. Check it out.. http://rapidshare.com/files/129508835/ASUS_8500GT.zip.html (it's an AVI in XVID). At this point, I don't know if it's the card or motherboard causing these problems if no one else is experiencing the same thing.

Oh, and it's just the scrolling and dragging. The dock is fluid, time machine, front row, even google earth.

UPDATE: Got both NVinject and NVkush working in 10.5.2 and I see the same issue. Tried EFI Studio, strings seem to take effect but DPMS kicks in (no display on VGA/DVI), probably that NVCAP stuff I've been reading about.

UPDATE: Will try an XFX 8500GT video card this evening to see if the same issue occurs.

UPDATE: Same issue with XFX 8500GT. Will try another (Intel this time) system this weekend.

So I came across something interesting... if I bring up a window and try to drag/scroll, it's garbled, but if, while it's up, i use expose (F10/F11), from then on, that window renders, drags and scrolls without a problem. This sounds like it might be an issue with the OpenGL framework.

Hi all,

No one here seems to have problems with Geforce7400go or no one has this card.. (no 1280x800 resolution, no QE/CI) but i'd like to know who reported success on 7400go with the string posted here? I just can't get it working on my laptop (Vaio FE11s) with Leo 10.5.2 v3 installed. It gives permanent kernel panic.

I also tried gfxutil before and the result is always the same: kernel panic just at the end of the startup when it normaly switches from verbose to graphic mode.

Most annoying is: when i start in single user mode (-s), switch then to superuser (su), it won't let me replace the modified com.apple.Boot.plist with the backuped plist, saying it's read-only.

I know, but there are more users with 10.5.3 having this problem, so it could happen with 10.5.4 aswell. The strings from the modified EFI Studio work.

But which strings do you mean? For 7600Go? Can you upload this string only to test it? I don't use such tools

You mean, 10.5.4 Combo has no gfx update inside? hmm.........

But QE/CI works on 10.5/10.5.1/10.5.2 with EFI and without gfx update

7600go efi string with natit.kext and 10.5.4 vanilla kext: ci/qe works

7600go efi string with LeopardGraphicsUpdate kext (geforce kext only copied from install package): ci/qe works

I didn't find out what is different between this kext yet.....can anybody help me plz?

I have a 7300LE PciE 64mb ram, but I cannot get CI/QE to work with EFI. MSI MS-7346   while Natit works fine with CI/QE.

I have tried different NVCap, (my card only has VGA/Svideo/Component), no DVI, but I can't find any reference to it.
ie:

I try changing IOMatch in Geforce, NV40 (but why does a G72 chip use a NV40 kext??) and NVResman,  but still no result.

I am using Chameleon 1.0.11 with DSDT patch (for 2 cpu), but does DSDT affect this?
