zascok, i gave mine working the same way, but with 256mb... But i have issues. For example, the Stacks hang the whole screen... You have the same? I think maybe there are more things needed from the 10.5.2, not only OpenGL framework...

Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a HEX-File for my Gigabyte GeForce 6600 256MB, but I can't find any.
Anybody got it working using strings?

Thanks a lot

By the way the string I have used to work my 8800gtx also works 7600gs without any modification.Only problem is that system profiler reports it 8800gtx eventhough it is a 7600gs
So I think you will be fine using a string for 7600 to work your 6600 as long as the pci address uid of the string matches your systems displays address...
You might have to edit the name of the card in the plist thogh for correct reporting
good luck and keep us updated  Wink

Hello again,

thanx indraganzo, everything worked out fine. I used the GF7xxx-package from the first post. Decoded the hex-file, changed the name of the card and - of course - the pci-adress. Animations now are looking much better. X-Bench-Score didn't change though.

Thanx a lot for your help. Next will be Azalia-Audio. But I think I can handle this.

See ya

Using the latest gfxutil to convert this file from hex to plist results in:
Code:
read_binary: invalid binary data
./gfxutil: cannot parse gfx data from hex input file '8800GTX.txt'!

I think my problem is something about the beta GeForce driver or the OpenGL framework... With some games, screen savers, and also, Preview does the same; the screen freezes, but the music for example remains in the background, etc.. Ive tested an screensaver called "electricsheep" that did freeze my screen... Now, looking on the console i foun this

Jan 23 16:55:00 bobmacpro kernel[0]: NVChannel(GL): Graphics channel exception!  status = 0xffff info32 = 0xd = GR: SW Notify Error

Jan 23 16:55:12 bobmacpro kernel[0]: NVChannel(GL): Graphics channel exception!  status = 0xffff info32 = 0x3 = Fifo: Unknown Method Error

And then the last line infinies times...

Not sure if thats config or is beta drivers fault, but looks like :S

I had the same problem tryıng to use the 8800 gtx strıng from the EFI v8 what I did I found a strıng for a similar model 8800gts and hen I have edited the correct vram size and the correct model name, Then make sure your PCI address is mathcing w,th your address.... Then convert to hex string using McMatrix's gfxutil
This is the plist I have used
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

Hi,
I have an nvidia geforce 7300 GS (PNY) and it works very well with the 7300LE string...(you could fint it (com.apple.bootlist) in the list nvidia + efi. Try it ! I can now play quicktime videos in 1080 dpi... (couldn't with nvinject before...).
Thanks to all the developers !!!
I think the driver for LE or GS is nearly the same about performance.

Good luck !
