Ok Guys, I tried to use the Graphics string and nothing happened. So I must of gone wrong somewhere. I'm running EFI boot v8. I have opened /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist I did not have the entry <key>Timeout</key> <string>10</string>.
This is how my boot.plist file looked.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
   <key>Kernel</key>
   <string>mach_kernel</string>
   <key>Kernel Flags</key>
   <string></string>
</dict>
</plist>

So I pasted the long geforce 7600GS code from here in between the <string></string> and removed my natit from my extensions and rebooted. Nothing happened. System is now just running in the basic graphics mode. I'm using a XFX 7600GS 256mb

I must be missing a step. What have I done wrong?

Thanks.

You need:

Code:

<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string></string>
        <key>device-properties</key>
        <string>your gfx string here</string>

Thanks 0xdeadbeef for the ultra fast reply,

Made the changes. Same thing. On boot-up NVDAN40HAL is loaded and registered. So It must be the 7600GS string.

I have a 3D Fusion GFX 5500 with 256M Vram.  The system profiler shows the following when I use NVInject:

Code:
GeForce FX 5500:

  Chipset Model: GeForce FX 5500
  Type: Display
  Bus: PCI
  VRAM (Total): 256 MB
  Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)
  Device ID: 0x0326
  Revision ID: 0x00a1
  ROM Revision: NVinject 0.1.3
  Displays:
IBM G96:
  Resolution: 1600 x 1200 @ 75 Hz
  Depth: 32-bit Color
  Core Image: Hardware Accelerated
  Main Display: Yes
  Mirror: Off
  Online: Yes
  Quartz Extreme: Supported
Display Connector:
  Status: No display connected

would that do for the GF5xxx testing you need?  I can give it a try.

2. BladeRunner: Thats good! If you can make a IODeviceTree dump, i'll make a string Smiley.. First beta without the dump will be ready today...

3. The 8600... i don't think we can handle this at this time, but we'll work at this in future Wink

I hope I got what you were looking for.  It is from:

Code:
ioreg -l -w0 -p IODeviceTree > Bladerunner-IODeviceTree.txt

The system was booted using NVinject.

I managed to get my laptop LCD working for the first time (dual monitor too) with that 7600GT dumped string.  I'm running pc_efi v8 with a Quadro NVS 110M.  I had previously tried the 7xxxgo version along with a few others, but they gave me the same as NVinject had been.  I edited the name, and EDID, and removed the non-gfx entries at the end.  Whenever I try to remove anything else (EDID, etc), it doesn't work anymore.

The problem is that my colors are extremely messed up, on both monitors.  Any ideas how to fix this or clean it up a bit?

EDIT:  I had an extra display override from np_'s old display utility.  Removing that seemed to fix up the color.  I guess that makes this a working NVS 110M string then...just replace the EDID.

Cannot confirm 7300GT working here.  Embarrassed Thrawnhex, can I send you a device tree (with NVinject)?

Thanks, BladeRunner!

Yes Eberts... just post a dump of your working configuration here, like BladeRunner said:

ioreg -l -w0 -p IODeviceTree > eberts-IODeviceTree.txt
